Introduction:

Mr. Liu Haisu's Climbing Huangshan for Ten Times has given us a lot of inspiration. Each time feeling is different. He show us with his action that in order to fully understand a thing, we must persevere so we start "Ten Sketches" challenge.
1. Due to the limited number of applicants, anyone who apply for several times with the same ID will be disqualified form the challenge
2. The library will provide pencils and paper, if necessary, you can bring your own.
3. This activity is limited to 60 minutes. Those who exceed the time limit will be considered incomplete.
4. Anyone complete the challenge, we will send souvenirs related to the art exhibition.
Mr. Liu Haisu and his Climbing Huangshan for Ten Times
Liu Haisu loved Huangshan throughout his life. He once lamented that “In the past Huangshan was my teacher and today I am a friend of Huangshan.” The most important works are also based on Huangshan. It can be said that Huangshan is the source of the art of Liu Haisu and Liu Haisu adds to Huangshan artistic connotation.
From the first trek to Huangshan in 1918 to the tenth visit to Huangyue in 1988, the span of 70 years has almost included Liu Haisu's artistic practice activities. In just 70 years, the feat of going to Huangshan ten times has broken the record of past artists' appearance.
The works he created with Huangshan as the subject matter include sketches, drawings, oil paintings, and Chinese paintings. The total amount is spectacular. The spirit of constant climbing and transcending that he showed in the ten visits is even more admirable and enlightening.
Why call it clerical script workshop?Clerical script prevailed in the Han Dynasty and became the main style of writing. As a start-up Qin clerical script, breaking the writing tradition since Zhou Qin, it gradually laid the foundation for regular script. Under the unification of the thought of "strike a hundred schools and respect Confucianism", the official script of the Han Dynasty gradually developed and became the dominant style. At the same time, cursive script, regular script and running script were derived to lay the foundation for art. Xuzhou is the birthplace of the two Han cultures. The Experimental Workshop of clerical script aims at cultivating the general public and young people's interest in art and creation.
